What is Smart Receipts, and what features does it offer?

Overview

Smart Receipts is an expense tracker application that allows you to log your payment receipts and distance traveled, add them to reports, and share or export these reports.

Smart Receipts is designed to be primarily used through a mobile application (available for iOS and Android), but also has a web portal available.

How Smart Receipts works

Most users use the mobile application and follow this workflow:

  1. Create receipts and distance entries.

  2. Organize them into reports.

  3. Export or share reports in the desired format.

The tabs at the bottom of the application correspond to these steps and allow you to manage each part of the process.

Receipts

The Receipts tab (bottom left) allows you to add, sort, and view receipts.

You can sort them by report, category, and date.

Distances

The Distances tab (second from the left at the bottom) allows you to add, sort, and view your trips and log the distances.

Reports

Your receipts and trips can be organized into reports for exporting and sharing.

The Reports tab (second from the right at the bottom) allows you to create reports, edit their properties, and select a report. When a report is selected, you can view its contents and add new receipts or trips directly to it.

Share

Once you have selected a report, you can export its contents.

The Share tab allows you to customize how your data is exported, select an output format, and generate a report for sharing.

Settings

The settings can be accessed through the ≡ menu button on the top left.

This menu contains all the application's customization settings, including account management, subscription management, report and export settings, etc.
