If you canceled your Smart Receipts subscription or free trial but were still charged by Apple, the payment may have been processed before your cancellation took effect.
Why was I charged?
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are managed and billed by Apple.
According to Apple's cancellation policy, free trials should be canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid renewal charges.
If you cancel too close to the end of your free trial, you may still be charged for the subscription.
For more information, please refer to Apple's official subscription cancellation guide.
How to request a refund
If you were charged after canceling your subscription, you can submit a refund request directly to Apple:
Sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
Select I'd like to, then choose Request a refund.
Select the reason for your request and click Next.
Find your Smart Receipts subscription and select Submit.
Apple typically provides an update on refund requests within 24–48 hours. If your refund is approved, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account.
Please note that refund requests are reviewed by Apple, and approval is not guaranteed.
For more information, see How to request a refund from Apple.
How to check your subscription status
To confirm that your subscription has been canceled:
Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap your name at the top.
Select Subscriptions.
Find and select Smart Receipts.
If you see an expiration date and no option to cancel, your subscription has already been canceled.
